Community and cooperation

Only with united forces and the cooperation beween human and dog will we be able to master this challenge and arrive safely at our destination. Our sled dogs are not only our companions but essential team members – their wellbeing is at least as important as the success of our mission.

environment shapes you

Time and time again it´s really a surprise, what humans are able to do when their life depends on it. We are looking for teamplayers to defy the odds of the wild and work together will strength of mind and body. With the right mindset and according preparation, we are going to make it!

Are you Ready?
Are you Ready?

Delicade powdered snow flutters onto your face as you lift the heavy curtain and step out the tent. The sky is clear and you take the time to look at your surroundings: At the valley, untouched fields of snow and a seemingly endless mountain range with its harsh summits in the distance. There is nothing left to remind you of yesterday´s strong wind and snowfall, in which you and your team had to set up camp. The wind was blowing heavily into the fabric - only together and at the last minute were you able to save the tent. Last night´s tracks in the snow have vanished and the masses of snow building up on the outside of the tent make it seem like a small fort. You hear well-known voices from the inside and remember your morning mission: fire and coffee. As you dig through the pulka in search of the fire steel, the sun slowly emerges from behind the hill tops and floods everything in a warm light. After the very short night and the storm´s tribulations, you finally feel bliss. You are proud of you and your team. As you savor the warmth of the sun kissing your skin, you are excited for the day ahead of you. And should the weather change … We will be ready!

Do I have to be as strong as Chuck Norris for this expedition?

Not at all! Everyone has to start somewhere, and we’ll make sure you’re well-prepared. You’ll have plenty of time, as we start preperations months in advance and we can advise effective training and preparations to build the strength and endurance you’ll need. But of course you should be fit before the trip starts!

Alex and Sebastian, your guides, will provide you with training guidance, equipment recommendations, and ongoing support to help you prepare effectively for the journey.

Before the trip begins, the group will have opportunities to connect and get to know each other online. If possible, you may even meet in person to share experiences and start building connections early.

We carefully review each team member’s application to ensure we’re all on the same wavelength from the start. Our goal is for everyone to enjoy the experience, and we’ve found that people drawn to adventures like this tend to have a lot in common. In fact, many groups bond so closely during these trips that they feel like family by the end!

We can fluently accommodate the following languages: English, German, Spanish, and Swedish. We want to make sure everyone will feel included as we are a team who need to rely on each other.

We will provide you with most of the equipment you will need. You will also receive an equipment list where everything is explained in detail, and we will be around to help with advice and recommendations.

Not at all! You’ll learn essential polar survival skills and techniques to prepare for the expedition; however, we will remain together as a group throughout the journey.

We’ll cook together, and all meals will be transported in our pulkas. Given the high-energy demands of the environment, we’ll focus on hearty, nourishing foods like porridge, nuts, dried meat, and some local Nordic specialties. Rest assured, the meals will be enjoyable! Vegetarian and vegan options will be possible as well.

Essential survival and bushcraft techniques tailored for polar winter conditions.
For example:

We will use cross country skis, each pulling your own pulka (simple sled) while being supported by a dogsled team. You will have the opportunity to learn how to, and drive the sled team.

The first 2-3 days will be training in our base camp, which we will build together in the wilderness. Then the expedition starts on day 4.

Be aware that the risk of illness or injury is potentially higher on this adventure than on a standard vacation. This is far from a casual trip to the beach; we’re venturing into the demanding environment of the subarctic, where mistakes can carry serious consequences. However, our team prioritizes safety and with thorough preparation to handle any situation that may arise. Our experienced guides, with over 15 years of expertise in polar regions, will lead the way and ensure you are well-supported. We’ll also cover every detail with you beforehand to ensure you feel confident and prepared.

In 2025, we are launching a single, unique adventure—a pioneering experience crafted with heart and dedication. For 2026, we aim to expand to 2-3 trips, allowing more adventurers to join us on these extraordinary journeys

Unexpected Indescribable Unforgettable

Communication

This simply exceeded all my expectations. It was so much bigger than I had imagined in my ideal world and was beyond my imagination. You could tell that you put an enormous amount of time, energy, and heart into it. So much input, so many amazing, unique experiences. I really can’t thank you enough for this time and opportunity. It’s impossible to describe in words. You’ve created something truly extraordinary. But it also fits perfectly with your special, unique friendship.

Despite the cold surroundings, you created such a warm and pleasant atmosphere. I felt extremely comfortable. And I didn’t have a single thought of home. I hadn’t experienced that before on trips, tours, vacations, or professional projects. That scared me a bit. I can’t remember ever having such a hard time leaving a place and its people.

It feels like a part of me is still in the north. I still haven’t quite arrived back. What have you done to me?!
Before I applied, I had read the phrase “Something is for sure this journey will change you” on the website, but somehow I didn’t believe it could actually happen 😅. But the tour really did change a lot of things. It even brought back thoughts and dreams from my youth that I had thought I had locked away safely.

Pioneer Expedition Particpant 2025

Team composition

The route always depends on the team, so I thought it was great that they responded to the ability and desire and adapted the route. Otherwise, one (or more) more days above the tree line would have been a fantastic experience. The time in the hut afterwards was incredibly beautiful and important for processing what we had experienced and enjoying a relaxed time with the team. The time in base camp was also great and incredibly important and valuable. The extra day was put to good use. Overall, definitely not fewer days.

Pioneer Expedition Particpant 2025

Uniqueness of The experience

A lot. The combination of skiing and dog sledding, the stunning landscape, the respectful treatment of nature and people, the insight into the Sami world, and the two guides.

Connection with nature, extreme conditions, team spirit

EVERYTHING –  especially the people and the dogs <3

Tried and experienced many new things

Would you recommend the Tour

@Alex If you want to join the next tour, you should become an early riser. Respect for your public speaking skills and for always keeping everyone’s well-being in mind. Even if you may not have always seen it that way, you made a surprisingly active contribution despite your essentially passive role. And especially in base camp, you played a large part in the team coming together so quickly.

Anyone who loves nature and wants to escape the daily grind. Anyone who simply wants to live in the moment. Not just for people who are familiar with group travel, but also for solo travelers. The group of strangers quickly becomes a close-knit community, one that you’ll only want to leave with a heavy heart in the end.

Pioneer Expedition Particpant 2025

Value for money

The equipment justifies it, especially since clothing is provided and the equipment is high-quality. You’ll have to pay extra for overnight stays in huts (divide the total price). It also depends on the length, though. 14 days will likely cost more.

I find the price completely reasonable.

Sebastian Kamp

Dog musher & owner of Kiruna Husky

He has been living for 15 years as a professional dog sled guide and wilderness guide in northern Swedish Lapland. During this time, he has led many groups through the mountains and forests in the depths of winter. He does not always choose the easiest route, preferring to avoid cabins and marked trails, seeking adventure away from civilization in tents, bivouac sacks, or snow caves. He dedicates his life to his family and his sled dogs. He tests his own limits and those of his dogs in long-distance races of 600 km.

kh

What a great experience!! If you are in Kiruna this is a most with them. Great guides, look after all dogs as if their own, very welcoming and making everyone feel confortable around dogs, and warm enough for the trip!
